Betty Chuma - IKM Associate
Betty is a Senior Associate in the Tax Department. She is both an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Chartered Accountant and has experience in various aspects of legal practice, audit, tax advisory services, and business advisory.
Betty has 5 years post-qualification tax experience and is charged with handling tax compliance and advisory assignments that include preparing advisory papers and setting out implementation plans for restructuring exercises, preparing paper reports to lobby various authorities on taxation matters, tax training and seminars, carrying out tax reviews and review of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) audit findings for accuracy, responding to KRA audits, following the procedure for objection all the way to Local Committee in certain instances, formulation of Transfer Pricing policies and general tax compliance matters.
Betty’s areas of expertise include individual taxation, expatriate tax, corporate tax and indirect taxes.
