James Kamau - IKM Managing Partner

James Kamau graduated from the University of Nairobi’s Faculty of Law in 1990 after which he proceeded to the Kenya School of Law and duly passed the Council of Legal Education Examination for Admission to the Roll of Advocates.

He was admitted to the Roll of Advocates on 22nd August, 1991 after which he was employed by the firm of Iseme & Company Advocates. On 4th March 1993, he became a partner in the said firm, thereby necessitating the change in the firm’s name to Iseme, Kamau & Company Advocates.

Apart from conveyancing and general commercial law, James has a wide range of experience in industry specific sectors and private equity.

Specialist sectors on which he has concentrated include tele-communications, media, technology, e-commerce, tax and labour law.

On private equity, he has handled many buy-outs and investments transactions and has negotiated, structured and completed many local and international commercial transactions.
