The Tax Department

In 2007, IKM launched a Tax Department in order to meet the growing need for specialized tax advice.

The Department offers a wide range of services including: Personal, Corporate and Partnership tax advisory services; tax due diligence reviews; lobbying for amendment of tax legislation or tax exemptions on behalf of clients; tax compliance reviews; tax training; transfer pricing advisory services; employee compensation structuring – tax planning for international and executive staff; tax implications in the context of corporate reorganizations, mergers & acquisitions, de-mergers, management buy outs and corporate restructuring; tax advice on corporate set ups and existing or new client products; representation in the Local Committee, Tax Tribunal and Tax litigation if need be; preparation and/or review of tax warranties in acquisition transactions; and general tax advisory services.

James Kamau is the Partner in Charge of this Department assisted by a Director of Tax, Robert Waruiru.  Robert is a former manager at KPMG East Africa where he worked for 7 years before joining us.
